Perak, ESPN Star Sports To Co-organise International Eco Adventure 2009
IPOH, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The Perak government, through its think-tank
agency, Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) in collaboration with ZI Production Sdn Bhd and ESPN Star Sports will organise
Perak Amanjaya International Eco Adventure 2009 next month.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the state government would
provide all the logistics for the event, scheduled for Dec 2 to 6.
"We welcome everybody to Perak. This is part of the government's efforts to promote
the state to the world as well as to the ESPN Star Sports viewers worldwide.
"We have also agreed to put the event in the state tourism calendar," he told
reporters after witnessing the signing of the cooperation here Wednesday.
The agreement was inked by IDR executive chief Aminuddin Hashim, ZI Production
director Rashdan Amir Hamzah and ESPN Star Sports Event Management Group vice-president Harvey Davis.
As the official broadcast media, ESPN Star Sports will produce a three-hour programme
on all four categories of the eco adventure.
The programme will then be repeated four times with overall airtime of 75 hours in

compete in five extreme sports namely cycling, canoeing, jungle trekking, cave exploring and swimming.
Each team would be given 28 hours to complete the 212km adventure, which would test
their physical and mental strength, endurance, stamina and sportsmanship.
Among the locations identified for the event are Banding-Royal Belum, Taiping-Kuala
Sepetang, Sungai Kampar-Gua Tempurung and Pasir Salak-Pulau Pangkor.
